These terms cover MeetSitters shift alerts, the text message program from MeetSitters. They're part of our terms of service. By opting in to texts, you agree to them.

About the program

Program name: MeetSitters shift alerts

What we send: scheduling texts for families and sitters who use MeetSitters. These include new shift alerts, offers and booking confirmations, reminders and confirmation requests, schedule changes, cover and swap requests, and account notices. Some texts let you reply, for example with Y to confirm a shift. We don't send marketing texts through this program.

How to opt in

Texts are off until you turn them on. To opt in:

1. In your MeetSitters account settings, check the box that turns on texts, such as "Text me about shifts." The box always starts unchecked.
2. Verify your phone number.

After you opt in, we'll send a text confirming you're enrolled. No one else, including a family you sit for, can opt you in.

Consent to texts is not a condition of using MeetSitters or of any purchase. If you'd rather not get texts, you can still get updates by email and push notifications.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your shifts and activity. You'll only get texts about households and shifts you're part of.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any of our texts to stop getting them. You can also reply CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE, turn texts off in your account settings, or email support@meetsitters.com. After you reply STOP, you'll get one text confirming you've opted out, and no more messages after that. Turning off texts doesn't turn off email or push notifications.

To start getting texts again, reply START.

Carriers and phone numbers

• Supported on major US carriers.
• US phone numbers only.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Texts can be delayed or fail to arrive, so don't rely on them alone for anything urgent. In an emergency, call 911.

Who can sign up

You must be 18 or older and the account holder or an authorized user of the phone number you enroll. If you change or give up that number, reply STOP from it or update your number in MeetSitters first.

Privacy

We handle your information as described in our privacy policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know before it takes effect.
